Overview

KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is a C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Despite being only three amino acids long, it retains the anti-inflammatory activity of the full α-MSH molecule without its melanogenic (skin-darkening) effects.

KPV exerts its anti-inflammatory effects primarily through inhibition of NF-κB, a master regulator of inflammatory gene expression. Research has demonstrated efficacy in models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colitis, and other inflammatory conditions. Its oral bioavailability makes it particularly attractive for gut-targeted applications.
